Let’s get moving!

What’s different about the market this year? Admittedly, the amazing affordability of just last year is gone. However, for the first time in a long time we are seeing a healthy market of move up, move down and move around buyers. People can once again move to the property that suites their lifestyle or stage of life. After a hard reboot, the system is coming back on line. Why now? And how can I be so sure? The most frightening statistic I’ve ever seen about the market we just lived through is from the results California Association of Realtors survey for 2011. When asked if a seller would be repurchasing a home at the conclusion of their sales transaction only 12% said yes. There just was no move up/move around buyer’s momentum to be had. That was a rock bottom number after hovering around the mid 40%-mid 50% range for a number of years. In 2013 that number was back up to 69% and I’m sure it will continue to climb. If you have somewhere else you’d rather be it’s time to get moving.
